Rev Mrs Dele George, Founder, Little Saints Orphanage, with headquarters located at Palm Grove Estate in Lagos-Nigeria, has been honored with awards for her service to God and humanity and development by two frontline associations.
The awards were handed over to Rev George during this year’s celebration of World Orphans Day on November 8, 2021, by Association of Orphanages and Homes Operators in Nigeria in Lagos-Nigeria.
www.csomedia.com.ng notes that the World Orphans Day is celebrated on the second Monday of every November, to raise awareness about the plight of orphans and displaced children across the world.
Association of Orphanage and Homes Operators in Nigeria, ASOHON, honoured the Little Saints Orphanage Founder, for her numerous contributions to the spread and development of the association in 25 of the 36 states of the federation.
It could be recalled that Rev Mrs Dele George, was instrumental to the formation of ASOHON in 2009 and was duly elected as the Founding National President of the association, where she took charge for 11 years.
Rev Dr Oyediji founder of compassionate orphanage is now the current president of the association while Rev George continues as the chairperson of the board of trustees.
Speaking with our correspondent today at her office in Lagos, the delectable lady disclosed that during her tenure, the association spread to 5 of the 6 geo-political zones in the country, except north-east.
She further explained that ASOHON, recognized by Federal Ministry of Women Affairs as well as state ministries of women affairs, has zonal coordinators and state coordinators in each of the states and geo-political zones.
Also, Nigeria Association of Social workers, NASW, during its 37th Annual General Meeting/ Conference, held recently at Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos-Nigeria, honoured Rev Mrs Dele George with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Service to Humanity.
George expressed her gratitude to God and her husband, Captain George for standing solidly behind her in the past 27 years.
She also thanked MrsDolapoOsinbajo, wife of the Vice-President for graciously accepting to be the Grand Patron of ASOHON, as well as her tenacious team for their commitment and input over the years.
