A legal icon and human right defender, who also double as a constitutional lawyer based in Calabar, Cross River State, Fidelis Onyebueke, has said that the current trending COVID-19 Pandemic which has claimed lives in million across the globe was sent by God to teach humanity a lesson.
Onyebueke made this remark during an exclusive interview in his Calabar chamber over the week, saying “COVID-19 Pandemic is, after all, a blessing to the entire world, since God sent it to prove to the humanity that He is God”
He said, “Take Nigeria, for example, before now, any small sickness, Nigerians will run to India, America, London, but today they are not going to those Countries, this has exposed our inadequacy in our health sector and some people are even making money out of it, he stated.
Onyebueke who is also a Calabar based legal practitioner dropped this bombshell during an exclusive interview with our Senior Correspondent.
According to him, “the outbreak of coronavirus is a lesson to people, to my understanding it was not a bad thing, so God had introduced it to teach man that he is God that is why you cannot challenge God, there is a limit to everything”
“But before now, people never know God, In China, they are now buying a Bible to read, so you have to know God, so God says know me, I am your creator and if God didn’t allow this thing, it wouldn’t have happened, so it is a lesson to people”
“So for me the pandemic is a blessing to the World, whoever says otherwise the person is not sincere. Do you ever believe that small thing would shake the entire World to the extent that everybody is crying?” On the five years of the Buhari Presidency, Onyebueke said, “Yes he came in with massive support of Nigerians, some people were followers of his Goodwill considering his performance in 1984, when he was head of state, at least, they were able to instill discipline into Nigerians, you know our country doesn’t need ordinary civilian, a man who doesn’t have a trace of military otherwise the person would not succeed.
He further stated that “During President Buhari first term in office, I scored him over 70%, even though the devil works over him, I know there are devils everywhere, he introduces herdsmen problem because he introduces it because, as a president ordinarily, he would have spoken against it, if he does, the herdsmen wouldn’t have taken to that dimension.” Onyebueke expressed.
