Welldone: The Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) commends security agencies, FG
The Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) welcomed the release of kidnapped students from the Government Secondary School, Kankara State School in Katsina, the Federal Government, the State Government of Katsina and the security agencies. Mr. Simon Lalong, the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of the Plateau, gave the commendation in a statement in Jos on Friday. According to Lalong, the release of the students would comfort their parents and further strengthen the trust of Nigerians in the battle against insecurity by the government. The NGF welcomed the release of the abducted students from Katsina State’s Government Science School Kankara with enthusiasm. We commend President Muhammadu Buhari, Gov. Aminu Masari, security agencies, community leaders and all stakeholders.The release of the students will console and relax the parents and the entire nation agonized by the ugly incident,” he said. Lalong called for further action to ensure that the ugly incident does not happen again and called for a comprehensive investigation to unravel and bring justice to those behind this condemnable act.” The President urged security agencies to conduct a full investigation into APC Acting Deputy National Publicity Secretary Yekini Nabena’s claims, stressing that the forum does not accept such conduct by any of its members. Nabena stated that the intelligence report revealed that a governor from the northern part of the country was behind the multitude of robbers, kidnappings and other forms of insecurity in the region.
Lalong assured the public that the forum will continue to work with the federal government and security agencies to put an end to all forms of insecurity and illegal activity in the region and the nation as a whole.
