Two Killed, 7 Others Injured As Dangote Truck Crushes 3 Vehicles, 3 Motorcycles In Multiple Accident
Lagos- No fewer than two persons were killed on Friday while seven others narrowly escaped death as a Dangote Cement truck crushed three vehicles and three motorcycles at the tollgate end of Sango Ota, Ogun state.
Daily Independent gathered that the accident occurred around noon when the Dangote Cement truck with Reg. No. HOWO GN 6712-16 Ash colour suddenly had a brake failure while negotiating the sloppy bend of Sango towards tollgate to link Lagos.
Other vehicles and motorcycles involved are, Volkswagen yellow bus KTU952XY, Toyota Corolla Gold colour EkY556ES, Toyota Highlander black FKJ505DP, Motorcycle Honda red GBE010QV, Motorcycle Honda blue AAB404WL, motorcycle Boxer red JBD186UP.
Confirming the report TRACE Commander Ajibade Adekunle said, “Two persons were killed while other injured victims were rushed to the hospital”.
To find lasting solution to incessant accidents caused by vehicles with brake failure, Ajibade advised, “Motorists, especially truck drivers, to regularly service their vehicles as well as making sure they are in good order before putting them on the roads.”
Ajibade said TRACE operatives and officials from the Federal Road safety Cops, FRSC, rushed to the scene of the accident to assist victims who were taken to the hospital, while those dead were taken to the mortuary in Ifo.
