Shazali Out, Wetkast In At Gombe EFCC Office

A new Zonal Head has been appointed for the the Gombe Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He is Mr. Ibrahim Shazali.
Shazali, a Deputy Chief Detective Superintendent, was the second in command of the Kano Zonal office prior to his assumption of office as Zonal Head on May 4, 2020.
Dele Oyewale, Head, Media & Publicity for the anti-graft agency in a press statement said He joined the EFCC in 2004 as an administrative staff after obtaining a Bachelor of Science, B.Sc. in Business Administration with specialisation in Actuarial Science from Ahmadu Bello University , Zaria in 1998 and later attended the first regular Cadet Training at Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, Lagos in 2005.
Shazalli obtained a Master’s Degree ìn Forensic Accounting from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom in 2015 and also attended the National Institute for Security Studies. He is now a fellow of the Institute.
At the EFCC, the new Zonal Head has served in various capacities as Team leader, Economic Governance, Lagos; Sectional Head, Banking Fraud, Abuja; Head, Procurement Fraud Section, Kano where he doubled as the Second in Command of the Zone. Before joining the Commission, Shazalli worked as a revenue accountant in the defunct Savanah Airlines Limited and as an Intern in an international human right law group.
He has attended several capacity- building seminars and training programmes on economic and financial crimes in Nigeria and abroad.
He takes over from Micheal Wetkast who is on study leave.
