The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has paraded two young men suspected of having been involved in different criminal acts, especially the theft of cell phones inside Jalingo, the capital of the state of Taraba.

“Our men were called along with men from the Nigerian Army and they immediately went into action to disperse the goons, but prior to that, they had operated for eight hours from 8pm to 1am before they were successfully dispersed that day.
“They ran out of luck as we were able to use our smart unit to track down these two suspects via phone that they took from our retired Commander and arrested them on December 30, 2022.
“Although their cohorts are now on the loose, we hope to catch them all as soon as possible and get them on the reserve,” he added.

The PRO revealed that the NSCDC Taraba State Command had previously arrested other criminals over the festive period, including the case of a road safety officer who was attacked along with his younger sister by a similar gang in Angwan Magami, Jalingo, where their phones were taken. and large amount of money collected from them.

Meanwhile, one of the suspects, Safianu Ahmed Dan-Anti, who was arrested on the retired commander’s phone, admitted to committing the crime, while the other, Farison Hoseah, insisted he had only been a victim of circumstance.
“I am from Nasarao, when we heard that a vehicle killed someone at the NATO crossing, we rushed to go and see things for ourselves. Arriving there, we saw a huge crowd protesting the murder of his relative, I just joined the crowd and moved with a stick in hand. I didn’t steal anything, I didn’t commit any crime,” Farison insisted.
