Listen to the People, Your Conscience, Ponder On What You Will Be Remembered For, Catholic Priest Tells Buhari
By Emmanuel Udom
President Muhammed Buhari has been advised to listen to the people, listen to his conscience and ponder on what he will be remembered for at the end of his tenure in 2023.
The Parish Priest of St Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland, Lagos, Rev Fr Anthony Fadairo, gave the advice yesterday during an exclusive interview with our correspondent.
It could be recalled that the insecurity of lives and properties for individuals, government agencies and cooperate bodies, the agitations for secession, and the arguments over the zoning of the presidency in 2013, among other challenges, have set the country on tension.
But, Fadairo said the present insecurity in the land has been in existence for long, and the realities now show that Nigeria is edging towards the precipice and need lots and lots of prayers, to continue to remain as one united, indivisible entity come 2023.
According to him, continuous prayers back-up with dialogue and the Buhari-led regime listening to the people and his conscience in order to be guided aright will sort issues out.
The catholic priest further explained that going by the present realities facing the country, the situation is dicey and no one could predict with certainty the next moment.
He however assured that though the storm has gathered and is still gathering, he is positive that Nigeria will scale though these tumultuous times.
