Liberia VP to grace UNICAL 33rd convocation

Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar Zana Akpagu has disclosed that the Vice President of Liberia Jewel Howard Taylor, is expected to be among the dignitaries at this year’s University of Calabar Convocation ceremony.
Others personalities would includes Anthony Nyong director of climate change and Green Growth Development of African Development Bank(ADB) and Ene Ita the erstwhile Federal Permanent Secretary are among the recipient of the University of Calabar Honorary degree at the 33 convocation ceremony schedule to held at the Pavilion of the University on 13th March, 2020.
Akpagu who disclosed this on Tuesday at the Senate Chamber of the University while addressing a press conference as part of activities to mark the fifth convocation ceremony of his administration.
Giving a breakdown of the graduating students he said 13 students bagged first class degrees from various disciplines, 2,500 were undergraduates, and over 400 postgraduate students.
Opine that his administration commissioned six projects last year and will be doing same this year with the commissioning of 240 bed space hostels and 500 seaters lecture pavilion.
The Vice Chancellor of the University assured the University community of a safe and secure environment noting that crime rate in the University has been reduced drastically and with the commissioning of a police post in the campus , it will bring crime rate to zero tolerance.
