Lagos Lawmakers Turn Prayer-Warriors, Praise-Singer For Speaker Mudashiru Obasa

Thursday 12th of May plenary in the Lagos house of Assembly chamber was ended by songs of praise for the Rt. Hon. Mudaashiru Obasa.
The song praising the Speaker was aimed at registering and emphasizing loyalty of the 40 lawmakers for their leader.
They unanimously urged him to continue his good work in Lagos House of assembly. First to bell the cat in the singing scenario was the Chairman House committee on information, Hon. Tunde Brtaimoh, supported by Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi representing Ojo constituency 1, while other legislators’ chorused the songs of praise.
Nevertheless, the house adopted the report of committee of public and private partnership as the resolution of the house. The report which was presented by Hon. Oluomo on the Fibre Optic was extensively debated by the lawmakers.

Therefore the Chairman of the committee Hon. Oluomo remarked that the project covers 300 kilometers to carry telecommunication and wire infrastructure. This project is to be completed in 12 months. Hon. Oluomo added, stating further that the infrastructure will support telecom facility in Lagos.
He added that the state would benefit from the partnership. However, the committee observed that the responsibilities of the company should be expanded, and that the company should ensure free cut, saying that 25years renewal should be done in line with private partners.
The committee chairman also disclosed that any agreement must be presented before the Lagos assembly, stating that the project is designed to enhance telecom and make Lagos a smart city, going away from Mega City.
The committee recommended that state government must enter rent agreement with Western Telecommunication Company. Hon. Oluoma, however, expressed thanks to the speaker Rt. Honorable Mudashiru Obasa and the Clerk of the Assembly. Mr. Azeez Sanni.
Hon. Tunde Braimoh, information committee chairman, said “The request from Government is sensitive; it has generated ho and cry”
Hon. Braimoh noted that the environmental impact of the project should have been examined critically. Also Hon. Gbolahon Yishawu observed that the company would bring 10 percent revenue to the state and ensure megacity of Lagos.
However, Hon. Abiodun Tobun concurred that the project would bring benefit to Lagos. Tobun worried and queried whether government representatives should be included.
Responding to Hon. Tobun’s submission, speaker Obasa remarked “how could you monitor project based on agreement, saying that the company should go to the dock.”
Hon. Olowo, on his own said, “It is a multi-utility infrastructure. The project would allow smart city in Lagos and allow the economy to grow, saying that the project would reduce telecom cost.
