Italy :British Airways and Ryanair halt all flights into and from the state due to Corona Virus
British Airways and Ryanair are to suspend all flights to and from Italy in response to the coronavirus outbreak after the entire nation has been locked down.
British Airways said that due to flying today, it had contacted all customers, as millions of Italians in normally busy cities like Rome and Milan woke up to deserted streets and an eerie silence.
For Wednesday, several flights were also cancelled though Ryanair said it was stopping Italy international from the weekend.
Italy already has the worst outbreak in Europe and experts warn that the height of spread may not reach the north until mid-April, the hardest hit area in the country so far, and probably in other regions later on.
“Citizens must know that this is not about changing their lifestyle just for one or two weeks,” said the head of the Italian national centre for epidemiology, Stefania Salmaso.

The new measures are clamping down on movement and closing down public spaces, announced late Monday. They widen steps that have already been taken in the rich northern Lombardy region and parts of neighboring provinces.
