Ikorodu Residents Praise Female DPO Over Anti-Crime War

By Emmanuel Udom
Monday, last week, independent check by www.csomedia.com.ng revealed that Margret Okonkwo, a Woman Chief Superintendent of Police, W/CSP, was deployed from Owutu police station in Ikorodu area of Lagos, to Shogunle police station, to take charge as divisional police officer.
W/CSP Okonkwo seems to know the nitty-gritty of fighting crimes and criminalities from all fronts.
Records available online showed that she has worked in various police formations, like the Lagos State police command traffic division, etc.
However, Bose Adeboye, a resident of Owutu in Ikorodu told our correspondent on phone that W/CSP Okonkwo was a terror to criminals, even as a female senior police officer, while she was the DPO at Owutu police.
Adeboye recalled how the DPO led a team of police officers to track down some suspected car snatching, who terrorized the area.
Monday Bassey, a journalist and resident of Owutu also praised DPO Margret Okonkwo, saying that residents of Owutu were impressed by the zeal with which she worked, while she was in-charge of their station.
However, when our correspondent visited Shogunle police station, Oshiodi, Lagos, to see DPO Margret Okonkwo, she was not on seat. But, it was observed that the entire police station was being painted.
