Guber Polls:17 parties collapse structure in support of APC

17 Political Parties in the March 18 Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections in Niger State has collapsed their structures to form alliance with Hon Umar Bago, the candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC).
Other groups in the alliance are the Arewa Women Groups, Labour Unions, notable elders, youths, women associations and stakeholders.
Mr Alfa Mohammed, the Coordinator of the Political Summit Group made this known in a statement shortly after a news conference in Minna, Niger State.
Mohammed said that the alliance was imperative for the sustainability and continuity of the development and progress made by the APC government in the state.
According to him, the endorsement signifies the intent of the good people of Niger state to continue to enjoy good governance and continuity of government plans and programs.
“All the political parties participating in the forthcoming governorship election in Niger state, along with labour unions, notable elders, youths, women associations and stakeholders have unanimously rejected the opposition of the ruling party.
“This was in the opposition summit organized to discuss and sensitize Nigerlites about the imperative of allyning and voting the federal ruling party, APC and to reject opposition in the Saturday election.
“The chances of completing the ongoing federal projects in Niger state, such as the Baro Port, the Bida-Lambata, Minna, Suleja and Rijau-Kontagora roads can only be guaranteed under an APC government led by Umar Mohammed Bago.
“Also thousands of youths employed into some agencies created by the current APC government may loose their jobs as continuity is not guaranteed under another party,” he said.
He said that the labour unions through their leaders had also expressed confidence on the Bago and Yakubu led government in the state to deliver good governance and to prioritize civil servants welfare.
Mohammed said that the collapse of the SDP and PDP structure into APC would prevent both parties from falling into the hand of inefficient and incapacitated leadership in the future.
He urged candidates of other parties to step down from the race for the APC candidate whom he described as more agile, experienced and devouted to building a better state for the people.
“The Arewa unity women Association, through its leader Hajiya Lubabatu from Kontagora opined that having voted APC at the presidential level, it will amount to a political suicide for Nigerlites to vote any other party on Saturday apart from the APC.
“Therefore we enjoin all women and youths to vote APC on Saturday because with Bago, a close political ally of the president-elect who is a widely connected legislator with wide corporate network.
“Niger state stands the chances of securing viable political appointments, such as the Senate president, top rated board chairs and impactful federal projects.
