Fun, laughter, dances as children celebrate May 27

It was fun watching more than 2000 children from various nursery, primary and secondary schools around Alimosho in Lagos, participate in the May 27, children’s day.

Top on the list of the schools that participated in the celebration at Oki Primary School in Alaguntan, Alimosho, Lagos were: Azolad Nursery and Primary School, located at No 4, Boyo Street, Abule Oki, Inforgate Group of Schools, Difast Schools, located at No 3, Olarewaju Street, Aboru, Kolzet Group of Schools, Iyana Ipaja, and Victoria Private Academy School.

Others were: Lutheran Group of Schools, Graceland Group of Schools, and Happy Heritage Group of Schools, etc.

Our reporter, who covered the celebration, noted that it started at about 1.00 p.m and the Baale of Oki Kingdom; HRM Adedayo Adeyemi arrived few hours later.

Top on the list of activities lined up from the celebration, which were coordinated by Aunty B, the event planner  and had DJ X-Mike on the music beat were: match past, cultural dances, running, catching the fish, choreography, etc.

Ifeoma from Inforgate Group of Schools, who came first in the cultural dance, told our reporter that she was grateful for winning the cultural dance competition.

Also speaking on the celebration, Ibikunle Solomon, a teacher with Inforgate Group of Schools, said the event was well organized as Aunty B, the event planner, did a good job of bringing pupils, students and children from various schools and communities in Alimosho to enjoy themselves on their day.

In his submission, M. A Quam, a teacher with Lutheran Group of Schools, said events such as this will build strong relationships among students and children across various communities.

The Baale in his speech thanked parents, school owners, pupils and students that attended the celebration and assured that in the coming years, more schools will see the need to join in the children’s day celebration, from various communities in Alimosho.

Samuel Adedeji, a student of Victoria private Academy School, said he thoroughly enjoyed himself, while Margret Nwosu from Difast School thanked the organisers for the celebration.

Gifts, snacks, and drinks were shared among the students, teachers and others that participated in the celebration.
