‘Fond Memories of My Mother, Madam Elizabeth Okungbowa’- Rev (Mrs) Dele George, Little Saints Orphanage Founder

Madam Elizabeth Egbenehikhuehe Okungbowa, who died on September 2, 2020, was on September 11 laid to rest at her private residence in Benin City, Edo State.
Madam Okungbowa, mother of Rev Mrs Dele George, the founder of Little Saints Orphanage, died in a hospital in Benin at the age of 87.
Late Okungbowa was the first wife of late General Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia.
Late Brigadier Gen. ( Dr) Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia was the two time governor of Mid-western state later renamed Bendel State. He passed unto glory on 9th of March 2017.
The marriage was blessed with three children before the couple parted ways in 1963.
The three children from the union are Rev Mrs Dele George; Mrs Victoria Ogbuigwe and Mrs Patience Omagbemi.
In her tribute to her mother, posted on her Facebook page, Rev George described her mother as a strong and courageous woman who stood strong through life’s fiery trials.
She said she learnt from her mother how to embrace the storms of life.
She said “Iye, I truly miss you but it is time to enjoy your eternal rest because Jesus Christ has paid the price. You deserve the rest.”
Late Madam Okungbowa is survived by seven children and many grandchildren.
