Family, Friends Honour Prince Adelaja @60
It was a surprise birthday bash last weekend, as family, friends and well-wishers gathered, to honour a foremost community leader, Prince Oluwafemi Paul Adelaja who clocked 60 years on Friday, December 4, 2020.
The birthday bash which took place at Labour Wise School, Akinfenwa Salako Street, Macaulay, Igbogbo/Bayeku Road in Lagos State, attracted some community leaders in the state.
Prince Adelaja is the Chairman, Odumade/Sholumade Community Development Association, CDA, Phase 11, Zonal Vice Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku CDC, Zone 4 and the Omordi Iyasere of Aboh Kingdom, Delta State.
Masters of Ceremony was the popular radio presenter with Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN, Monsur Karounwi popularly called “Bobo Karoo”.
The event spiced by popular saxophonist “Feere Jesu'” attracted representatives of a social cultural group Anioma Progressive Union and Otu Ifunaya Women Association where the celebrant and wife Abosede are members.
The pre-event took the family to Hikanos Orphanage, along White Road, Igbogbo where food items and toiletries were donated.
Also, the family made donations to Anioma Progressive Union.
Born in Onitsha (former East-Central State), the present day Anambra State to the families of Chief and Princess James Rosanwo Adelaja of Idomowo,Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, had his primary education in the East and Middle Western Nigeria before and during the Biafra/Nigeria Civil war, majored out secondary education in Ijebu land, tertiary education in Ogun and Lagos states.
His Youthful Days
He is a trained journalist, Cinematographer and an administrator.
As an actor, he has featured in various Nolywoood productions including “Living for tomorrow” and “Super Story” by Wale Adenuga.
Carrier Jobs
Joined the public service, worked as a journalist with Daily Times Nigeria Ltd, later with National Civic Registration (under the Ministry of Interior) and started attachment with Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Alagbon, as a Finger Print Analyst.
Retirement
His sojourn in the civil service also took him to the office of Head of Civil Service of Nigeria and retired as the Head of Administration, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Ogun State Office in July 2016.
Community Input
He served as Assistant Secretary, Secretary and presently the Chairman Odumade/Sholumade CDA phase 11 also doubles as the 1st Vice Chairman Igbogbo/Baiyeku Zone 4 CDC. Married to a journalist Abosede Adelaja and children.
