Family Eulogizes Late Lolo Esther Ekemma Okoye (Nee Agwuemeka), Announces Date for Burial

The family of late Chief Nwoyekwe Okoye (Ozo Onyibari) of Akodu family, Ifite-Isu village, Isuaniocha, Awka North LGA, Anambra State announces the transition to glory of their wife, mother, Sister, grand mother, great great grandmother, late Lolo Esther Ekemma Okoye ( Ozo Nwanyi) which sad event occurred recently.
According to the burial arrangement released by the Patriarch of the immediate family, Elder George Maduaburochukwu Okoye while addressing the newsmen, stated that the commencement of the burial rites will kickstart from 18th April, 2022 to 20th April, 2022 which will mark her final interment with the opening of the mourning house on 18th April, 2022 with condolence register to be opened in the family compound for sympathizers to pay tributes to her.
The release, according to him, indicated that it will be followed the next day with condolence visits by family members and inlaws on Tuesday, 19th April, 2022.
On Wednesday 20th, the family will receive her maiden family from Achalla community and other concerned Groups and individuals as tradition demands while 24th April, 2022 will mark the outing and thanksgiving service which will climax the funeral rites and ceremony. According to the Head of late Chief Nwoyekwe Okoye nuclear Family of Akodu, Elder George M. Okoye had eulogised the deceased and described her as an accomplished farmer who made the entire family proud while alive.
He disclosed further that the late Lolo Esther Ekemma Okoye (Ozo Nwanyi) was instrumental in the Ozo title taking in Isuaniocha with her late husband in early 70s immediately after the Nigerian civil war which he noted helped in no small measure in maintaining the traditions and moral high values among the people of the community.
She was instrumental also to promotion of formal and western education in the community and her children and other indigent pupils in the community and a philanthropist of the highest order. More importantly, the head of the family added that it is also on record in the history of Isuaniocha community that she was reputed to be the first woman to ride Hero lady’s bicycle immediately after the civil war in 1970. She was also noted to be the first woman to ride a Honda lady’s motorcycle in the community in 1975, which he added proved her entrepreneurial prowess.
The release further stated that she led so many socio-cultural Groups in the community and she was a leading and a famed dancer of all times in the 70s.
The late Lolo Esther Ekemma Okoye was known to be a community women leader of all times, a lovely and a devoted christian who was baptised at her old age by the Christ the King Parish, Isuaniocha and received her first Holy Communion as a Christian.
In order not to backslide in her new found religion, she fully became born again and became a member of Deeper Life Bible Church in Ifite Parish where she exhibited her filial piety to God diligently until her demise at the ripe age of 93yrs.
The release concluded that the service will be conducted by the Deeper Life Bible Church, Isuaniocha Parish and to be officiated by Pastor Leonard Uzoigwe.
Elder George M. Okoye while speaking further with newsmen described his late mother as a virtuous woman, very passionate, industrious and someone who showed great desire in the development of the Community .
He further stated that his mother will be greatly missed by the family, admirers and those who benefited from her mentorship and wise counsel. He implored all to join the family to bid a woman he described as a role model farewell, the release concluded. She was survived by 7 children, Uncle, so many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He prayed to God to repose her soul in the bosom of our Lord until we meet to part no more.
