EKSG Special Adviser on Social Investment reiterates Governor Fayemi’s efforts on Social Security Schemes

The Special Adviser on Social Investment to Ekiti State Government, Barrister Victor Kolade has called on the National Cash Transfer Office of the National Social Investment Programme to further increase the number of beneficiaries in Ekiti State to enable more citizens of the State enjoy available financial support scheme.

Barrister Kolade said this while delivering his goodwill message at the on-going 3-Day Co-Orientation Step Down Training for Cash Transfer Facilitators in Ekiti State organised by the State Cash Transfer Unit also known as Household Uplifting Programme.

He said; “The Governor Kayode Fayemi led Administration is assiduously working closely with all channels of Social Investment in the State. The task is huge, but the government is doing well enough to ensure all needs are met as regarding the welfare of the people of the State.

“I also want to assure this gathering that Social Investment is one of the Five Pillars of Governor Fayemi’s Administration, with an ambition to restore our lost values in Ekiti State.”

He also encouraged the Cash Transfer Facilitators to work diligently for the collective growth of the State, saying that Governor Kayode Fayemi is a leading example of selfless leadership.

In his Welcome Address, Head of Ekiti State Cash Transfer Unit, Mr. Gabriel Adeokin explained that the training, Co-Responsibility is one of the three major components of Cash Transfer Programme also known as Household Uplifting Programme with objective to alleviate the poverty of vulnerable households in the State.

“The Co-responsibility is a project taking care of pregnant or lactating women and children from the ages of zero to five years old and we are covering Facilitators in Ikere, Ijero, Moba, and Ikole Local Government Areas,” he said.

Activities carried out during the Training include; Review of Facilitation Skills, Importance of Co-Responsibility Orientation Training, Mock Facilitation Practice, Roles and Responsibilities of Trainers, among others.
