Davido In A N250m Orphanages Donation Scam?

 November last year, popular Nigerian singer, Davido, claimed to have donated N250 million to orphanages across Nigeria.

In his statement then, the singer said his friends and fans made personal donations to celebrate his birthday and he decided to add N50 million to the amount, making a total of N250million.

According to Davido, the N250 million is to be distributed to orphanages across the country, even as a 5-man committee has been set up to monitor the distribution of the funds.

However, www.csomedia.com.ng fact-check revealed that Mrs Titi Adebayo is the chairman of the committee, while Professor Jonathan Nwodo is the secretary, as Professor Yahaya Asabe, Professor Uloma Onuoha and Pastor Oyalabu are members.

But, further investigations revealed that three months down the line, orphanages in the country are yet to received a dime from Davido and his committee, even after they have submitted their details to the committee for payment through Wema Bank

Some orphanage workers who spoke off record with our correspondent feared that the Davido N250 million orphanages donations could be a scam as no orphanages across the country has received a dime from the donations.

Davido could not be reached through his verified Facebook account as at the time of filling this report for official comment on the issue.
