Crime reporters Mourn Xavier Ndah, Daily Independent Metro Editor

Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), a body of all journalists covering the security beat nationwide, has lost one of its foundation members.

He is Xavier Ndah, who served the association for 22 years as secretary.

A press statement issued and signed by Odita Sunday and Chiemelie Ezeobi, president and secretary respectively of CRAN, stated that the association received “with a heavy heart the demise of Xavier.

The departed crime reporter, in his 50s, was the Metro Editor of Daily Independent newspaper and died penultimate Friday at one of the government health facilities in Ogun state.

He began his journalism career with the New Nigerian Newspaper where, he worked for years before moving over to other media houses as a crime reporter, and eventually ended up as the metro editor of Daily Independent Newspaper in 2018.

CRAN stated that “Our flanks have been broken by death once again but we take solace that though he is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family he left behind and we will live by our creed of ‘being our brother’s keeper because even in death, Xavier is still part of us.”
