Coronavirus: Twitter chief Jack Dorsey tweets $1billion for relief
Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey said Tuesday that his philanthropic fund was contributing $1 billion to coronavirus relief.
In a series of tweets, Dorsey said he would pass his money to his limited liability company Start Small in his digital payment business Square, contributing about 28 per cent to his total income.
“Why now? The needs are increasingly urgent, and I want to see the impact in my lifetime,” Dorsey said.
“I hope this inspires others to do something similar. Life is too short, so let’s do everything we can today to help people now.”
